AI Institute & Turing Manager - Maternity Cover

Department : NMES Institutes & Centres

About us

King's is home to a wealth of expertise in AI, demonstrating its importance to numerous disciplines and reflecting the need for AI expertise locally, nationally, and internationally. In drawing together this expertise, the King's Institute for Artificial Intelligence seeks to connect and coordinate the AI research community at Kings, stimulate new external collaborations and partnerships, support education and training, and engage researchers, educators, students, policymakers, and the general public. Supported by a small professional services team based in the Faculty of Natural, Mathematical and Engineering Sciences (NMES), the King's Institute for Artificial Intelligence works with King's nine faculties to promote and develop AI expertise at King's.

King's is also part of the Turing University Network launched by the Alan Turing Institute - the UK's national institute for data science and artificial intelligence. This relationship is managed by the King's Institute for Artificial Intelligence on behalf of King's.

About the role

Working closely with the Head of Institute and Centre Operations, the Institute & Turing Partnership Manager will take an operational lead on business-as-usual and special projects across the breadth of the Institute's workstreams, and will identify, develop and facilitate new collaborations, both internally and externally, and help to curate the Institute's annual events programme and other initiatives.

The postholder will also be the primary administrative link between the Alan Turing Institute and King's. This is a pivotal role in fostering collaboration and maximising engagement between the two institutions. The post-holder will actively promote opportunities for King's communities to engage with the Alan Turing Institute, ensuring they derive the maximum benefits from their involvement. The role requires working collectively to establish and maintain strong internal and external partnerships, further enhancing the impact and profile of AI at King's.

This is a full time (35 hours per week) maternity cover post, and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 28 August 2026 or until the substantive postholder returns. The post is available from 11 August 2025.
