Job Details
  • Purpose: Work in youth work teams with young people aged 11-18 in their own communities (community centre, local park or school).
  • Salary: FC3 £25,604.23 - £26,786.83
  • Contract type: Permanent
  • Working pattern: 1.5 - 3 hours per week depending on location
  • Locations: Lochgelly, Bowhill, Benarty, Kelty, Cowdenbeath
Responsibilities
  • Support young people to undertake local project work of community benefit.
  • Assist young people participating in youth work programmes to undertake personal development activities.
  • Support young people on an individual and group basis to realise their potential and overcome challenges.
  • Build their self esteem and self confidence.
  • Consider risk, make reasoned choices and take control of their own lives.
  • Develop a 'world view' which widens horizons and invites social commitment.
  • Build the capacity of young people through the acquisition of knowledge and development of skills.
The Person
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Good time keeper, reliable and prepared to work flexibly.
  • Experience of youth work and planning and developing learning and education programmes with young people.
  • SVQ2 or SVQ3 Youth Work / PDA Youth Work.
  • Ability to motivate young people and encourage participation.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations confidently.
