Educated Body is a health and fitness company that operates in a niche sector, luxury residential and corporate developments. We work on some of the highest profile property projects in the UK, running luxury health clubs and spas that host a Gym with unrivalled top of the range equipment, a stunning Swimming Pool with a Sauna/Spa, an extensive Group Exercise programme, Personal Training, Beauty Therapy rooms, areas for relaxation and wider wellbeing services. We consult on development and design, supply specialist equipment and are a flexible, agile, fast growing company. We are opening many new sites and need managers to support growth. We will train you and support you to grow with us, providing on the job learning and senior management exposure.
Your roleThe job of Assistant Manager is to support the Club Manager and wider leisure team in delivering a 5 experience for residents, guests and external contractors at the development. This is a varied role involving a blend of operational, fitness and customer service duties, where previous management and operational experience is essential.
- Supporting all operational aspects of the Club including quality, development, customer service, organising external practitioners, treatments and personal training, maintenance & Health and Safety
- Leading the Duty Manager team, driving service level performance of the club
- Deputising for the Club Manager in their absence
- Opening or closing the facility, overseeing day to day running including health and safety checks, pool testing, ensuring exceptional brand standards are met
- Being the first point of contact for all enquiries, delivering exemplary customer service, answering telephone calls and emails, balancing relationships with high net worth individuals and estate management staff
- Preparing reports on usage, member satisfaction, revenue generation activities and operational performance for the Club Manager
- Fostering a collaborative, service driven, and wellness focused team culture
- Motivating and championing the team to increase attendance in wellness events
- Contributing to building maintenance by reporting faults or damage to fixtures and fittings
- Liaising with housekeeping and cleaning staff to maintain safety and cleanliness standards
- Preparing and reviewing standard procedural documents for daily operations
- Taking customers through fitness assessments, prescribing exercise programmes, instructing group exercise classes and identifying personal training interest for off shift instruction
This position is a 40 hour per week contract; you must be able to work a range of shift patterns including early starts, late finishes, and both weekdays and weekends.
Qualifications and Experience- Fitness qualification (minimum level 2)
- Previous management experience or key responsibilities in enhanced roles
- Two years fitness industry experience, preferably in a 5 star or luxury environment
- Swimming pool or pool plant operations experience
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency to a good standard
- RLSS Emergency Responder qualification or willingness to undertake
- Pool Plant Operator qualification or willingness to undertake
