We are looking for an "TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE (For a Laboratory R&D Study) - M/F" for one of our clients, to be based in Nouvelle-Aquitaine (France) for a 12-month contract (potentially renewable).
"TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE (For a Laboratory R&D Study) - M/F". What will your responsibilities and missions be?
Objective
Conduct experimental research on a new type of amine-based solvent that precipitates when loaded with CO , potentially offering advantages over conventional liquid-phase capture processes.
Key Tasks
Preliminary Training in Japan:
- One-month assignment at the research center of a Japanese partner company (Tokyo)
- Goal: become familiar with the application and handling of the precipitating solvent
Experimental Work in France:
- Location: Research center of a private company in the South of France
- Design and perform bench-scale experiments to evaluate the performance of the solvent in post-combustion CO capture
- Focus on determining the effectiveness and practical advantages of the precipitation process compared to traditional solvents
Collaboration with Specialized Team:
- Work closely with a team of experts in thermodynamics and reaction kinetics
- Integrate kinetic and thermodynamic measurements into the overall performance assessment of the solvent
Context
- The project is part of an international collaboration between a French and a Japanese private company
- The solvent represents a disruptive innovation in the field of carbon capture
Deliverables
- Design and prepare the experimental setup: Set up the necessary equipment and protocols to carry out the tests under controlled conditions
- Conduct laboratory experiments: Perform the experimental campaign according to the defined procedures and objectives
- Analyze experimental data: Process and interpret the data collected during the experiments to assess solvent performance and behavior
- Summarize findings and report to stakeholders: Compile results into clear, structured technical reports and share outcomes with the company representative
What profile and skills are Required for this "TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE (For a Laboratory R&D Study) - M/F" Position?
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven ability to lead and conduct independent research projects: Typically demonstrated by individuals holding a PhD or equivalent experience
- Advanced expertise in physical chemistry and carbon capture processes
- Strong background in reaction mechanisms, phase behavior, and CO absorption technologies.
- Ability to design and develop innovative experimental setups
- Capable of building customized in-house systems tailored to specific research objectives
- Rigorous and analytical mindset
- Methodical approach to experimentation, data analysis, and problem-solving
- Collaborative and open-minded attitude
