Job Description

My client is a leading 3-partner Chartered Accountancy practice based in Co. Meath, with over 30 years of excellence in delivering premium financial and advisory services.

They have an impressive and stable client database spanning an extensive range of sectors, servicing everything from large audit and non-audit corporate entities to local sole traders.

A progressive, expanding firm that blends deep-rooted local heritage with a forward-thinking approach to client service they are looking to add a Tax Manger to their growing team

Driven by continuous growth this Tax Manager job is not just a compliance role; it is a strategic position within a growing department. You will step into a highly collaborative environment where your technical expertise will directly shape the tax function, whilst providing you with the autonomy to manage and grow your own diverse client portfolio.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of personal tax compliance, workflows, and quality controls for individuals, directors, and HNWIs.
  • Identify and deliver planning opportunities (remuneration, residency, succession planning) and advise on corporate restructuring, M&A, and cross-border expansion.
  • Act as the technical lead for Revenue interactions, including queries, audits, and disclosures.
  • Conduct and review technical tax research across all Irish tax heads to provide commercially focused insights.
  • Manage a diverse client portfolio, acting as the primary point of contact and ensuring high-quality, timely service.
  • Monitor workflow, deadlines, WIP, billing, and fee recoverability.
  • Coordinate with audit, accounting, and advisory teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for additional advisory work within the existing client base.
  • Support proposals, pitches, and the development of new tax service offerings.
  • Enhance the firm's market presence through networking, proposals, and technical insights.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor junior staff and trainees.
  • Review work prepared by team members, providing constructive feedback to support their professional growth.
  • Promote a collaborative, high-performing, and compliant team environment.
Requirements
  • A fully qualified AITI / Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) or a Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA) with a strong tax background.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of post-qualification experience in a dedicated tax role within practice, with a proven track record of managing an income tax function.
  • Deep, up-to-date knowledge of Irish tax legislation across all tax heads, with specialist expertise in personal tax planning, director/shareholder matters, and succession planning.
  • Extensive hands-on experience managing Revenue interactions, including audits, aspect queries, and disclosures via ROS.
  • Proven ability to manage a diverse client portfolio, with strong commercial acumen regarding workflow management, WIP, and billing.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising junior staff, reviewing technical work, and mentoring trainees in a collaborative environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex tax advice clearly to clients and support business development initiatives.
