Sous Chef - Hospitality Group About the Role

MCG Recruitment are supporting a quality hospitality group in the search for a Sous Chef to join a friendly and well-established kitchen team. Our Sous Chefs are culinary creatives who play a key role in supporting the Head Chef, leading kitchen operations, and ensuring the team delivers high-quality dishes in a busy, fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, strong attention to detail, and the ability to perform consistently under pressure while maintaining excellent standards of presentation and taste.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in managing day-to-day kitchen operations
• Help lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff
• Ensure food is prepared, cooked, and presented consistently and on time
• Monitor food quality, taste, and presentation standards
• Assist in developing new menu items and specials
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well organised kitchen environment
• Ensure full compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations

Skills & Experience

• Strong culinary ability with focus on quality and presentation
• Solid understanding of cooking techniques and ingredients
• Experience working in a busy, fast paced kitchen
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency
• Calm and effective under pressure
• High attention to detail

Salary & Package

• Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum (depending on experience)
• Tronc: Approx. £3,500 per annum additional

Salary: Up to £24.00 per hour INCL TRONC AND BONUS
