PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £50,000 - £59,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLEWe're looking for a strategic, experienced and creative social media leader to be our Social Media Manager - Social Campaigns - BBC Three, responsible for leading the social campaigns for some of the very biggest TV programmes at the BBC, with a strong focus on BBC Three. Line managing a team of four and reporting to the Head of Social, iPlayer and Three, the role will help deliver a coherent, consistent social media experience for UK 16-34s, with a strong focus on 16-24, working closely with the TV Social Production, Edit and Planning teams as well as other promotional, editorial and production teams at the BBC, to ensure each campaign delivers on the agreed social strategy, maximises engaged reach with young audiences, delivers content of the highest creative quality, and drives traffic around the BBC portfolio and reaches youth audiences at scale.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- Oversee a range of social media campaigns, acting as the strategic and editorial lead for those campaigns across all social platforms, working closely with the Publishing, Production, Edit and Planning teams to align strategy
- Publish and edit content in collaboration with Production, Edit and Planning teams to ensure alignment with strategy
- Help lead BBC TV's strategic and creative development in the social space, setting strategy at a campaign level
- Work closely with Commissioning to plan/guide social activity around priority programmes
- Manage team resource and processes to maximise UK under-35 engaged reach at a campaign level
- Ensure social campaigns deliver on quality metrics, relevance and scale
- Work with relevant talent and Content stakeholders to align programme priorities and social activity, reporting to senior stakeholders as required
- Collaborate with the social Publishing, Production and Edit teams to ensure programme, asset and account priorities are aligned
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Experience delivering integrated social media projects alongside broadcast output, ideally in TV or audiovisual media, with a strong innovation component
- A strong track record of working on major TV shows or brands on social media, developing and delivering social media strategies, creating content and managing communities, using analytics to drive decision making at the highest level
- An understanding of media production and commissioning processes
- Leadership and influencing skills to drive forward new initiatives and influence strategic thinking at senior levels
- Ability to understand audience needs and behaviours across platforms/devices/content and translate this into strategic thinking
- Demonstrated ability to manage and nurture stakeholder relationships across production, talent, and internal teams to drive impactful social media campaigns and audience engagement
