At 3D-Shaper Medical, we are pioneering the development of cutting-edge imaging software to improve the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of musculoskeletal diseases. We're looking for a talented and motivated scientist with a PhD to join our dynamic R&D team and lead innovative research projects at the intersection of medical imaging, statistical modelling, and clinical application.

Your Mission

  • Lead and contribute to the development of 3D bone modelling methods from X-ray, DXA, and CT imaging data using statistical modelling and image registration.
  • Validate and assess the accuracy and reproducibility of new methods using clinical datasets.
  • Work closely with our software development team to integrate your algorithms into the 3D-Shaper product suite.
  • Design and execute clinical studies using 3D-Shaper, including statistical analysis and interpretation of results.
  • Disseminate your research through peer-reviewed publications and international conferences.
  • Manage collaborative projects, including coordination with academic and industrial partners, organizing meetings, and preparing reports and deliverables.


What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field
  • Solid background in medical image analysis, especially in statistical shape modelling or image registration
  • Strong foundation in applied statistics, including experience with statistical analysis of clinical data, data interpretation, and reporting
  • Proven research experience with at least 3 peer-reviewed publications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
  • Fluent English (professional working proficiency)

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in musculoskeletal imaging
  • Experience in computational biomechanics
  • Involvement in pharma-sponsored or multicentre clinical studies
  • Familiarity with public research funding (e.g., EU Horizon Europe, Spanish national calls)
  • Proficiency in Spanish and/or French is a plus
