Lab Engineer

On behalf of one of our key partners, RED now has an opportunity for a Lab Engineer to join them on an IT project. This is a 12 Month contract role, with excellent extension opportunities.

This contract is to start ASAP and will be On-site/Hybrid in Madrid, Spain.

Role responsibility:

This is a hands-on Lab Engineer role that involves maintaining and supporting a large global lab IT environment, including managing thousands of devices, onboarding new computers to the network, and ensuring hardware security. You will be working closely with scientists to resolve technical issues with their equipment, as well as troubleshooting and managing data flows for scientific instruments

Specific skills/experience:

• 5+ years hands-on experience as Lab Engineer
• Proven experience with GxP for validated systems
• End-user computing/desktop support skills are essential (Break/Fix)
• Proficient in computer troubleshooting (device connectivity, laboratory software and network issues)
• Good knowledge with networking concepts (network Topography, Static/Dynamic IPs, VLANSs, Subnetting, basic understanding of Firewalls and IT/OT Networks)
• Knowledge and good understanding of Active Directory
• Test & validation of computer software + technical documentation experience
• D2D and/or project support experience
• Familiar with Agile methodology and ticketing systems (ex. ServiceNow)
• Past experience implementing the validated data backup solution on laboratory analytical equipment (equipment and software investigation, documentation, technical configuration) within R&D
• Background with computer security
• Strong communication skills with English
