ID Recruitment are delighted to be working with an established leadingelectrical contracting and consultancy company to recruit a Head of HSQE.
This key leadership role will report to the Chief Operating Offier andwill lead and drive the company's health and safety initiative and will beresponsible for developing, implementing and overseeing comprehensive healthand safety programs.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience leadingand mentoring teams, have indepth knowledge of the construction industry, beable to manage and prioritise multiple projects at once and have a passion forstrong health and safety practices.
Your keyareas of responsibility
- Strategy Development: Formulate and execute health and safetystrategies that align with organizational goals and legal requirements.
- Leadership: Provide visionary leadership in health andsafety practices, setting the strategic direction for the organization'ssafety culture.
- Policy Oversight: Develop, implement, andmaintain health and safety policies and programs that align with legalrequirements and industry best practices.
- Support and Advice: Provide Health, Safety, Environment and Qualityadvice to management and staff responsible for HSEQ across all ElectricSkyline offices/sites nationwide.
- Risk Management: Identify potential workplace hazards throughaudits and assessments; develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Training and Development: Oversee the development anddelivery of health and safety training programs to ensure all employeesunderstand their roles in maintaining a safe work environment.
- Incident Management: Investigate accidents and near-misses, analyseroot causes, and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Compliance Assurance: Monitor compliance with health and safetyregulations, conducting regular inspections and audits to ensureadherence.
- Quality Management System: Management and control ofQuality Management system as per ISO9001, Environmental Management Systemas per ISO14001 and the Occupational Health and Safety Management Systemas per ISO15001 accreditations.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present detailed reportson health and safety performance to senior management, highlighting trendsand areas for improvement.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor keyperformance indicators (KPIs) for health and safety; prepare reports forsenior management and stakeholders.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergencyresponse plans, coordinating drills and training to ensure readiness.
- Collaboration: Work closely with management, employees, andexternal agencies to foster a culture of safety and health.
- Third Party Suppliers: Maintain and assess sub-contractorinsurances, safety statements and method statements.
- People Management: Lead and develop the HSEQ team and driveperformance excellence across the business.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with seniormanagement, regulatory agencies, and employees to foster a culture ofsafety and continuous improvement.
- Wellbeing: Developand maintain the company wellbeing strategy.
Qualification,Skills and Experience required
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety,Environmental Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years' experiencein a similar position.
- People Management Experience with the ability toguide a mentor a team.
- Professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, orequivalent) are strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of health and safetyregulations, standards, and best practices.
- Experience in the Construction industry would be anadvantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in health and safety managementsoftware and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in afast-paced environment.
