Permanent Salary: £37,000 per annum
Temporary Rates: £18.68 per hour PAYE or £25.70 per hour Umbrella

The Role

Morson is recruiting Skilled Electrical Installers to join Marshall Land Systems at their new site in Merthyr Tydfil.

Working within the electrical production team, you will assemble, build and install electrical circuits and communication systems within mobile workspaces, deployable containerised products and associated equipment.

You will carry out installations in line with engineering drawings, client specifications, industry regulations and Marshall Land Systems' internal standardisation practices, ensuring work meets the required quality, safety and delivery standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manufacture, assemble and install electrical circuits and communication systems within mobile workspaces and associated electrical products and equipment.

• Carry out looming, crimping, braiding and soldering, alongside wire cutting, preparation, termination and cable identification.

• Install fibre optic cabling as required by project specifications.

• Interpret and follow engineering drawings, electrical schematics, technical documentation and production instructions.

• Ensure electrical installations comply with BS 7671 wiring regulations, internal quality standards and company standardisation requirements.

• Follow IPC-A-620 requirements and acceptance criteria when installing cable harnesses and wiring looms.

• Complete assigned work within allocated timescales while maintaining accuracy and quality.

• Accurately record job bookings and progress using the IFS ERP system.

• Complete and maintain Build Record Cards and associated documentation to support traceability, quality control and production tracking.

• Work in accordance with company health and safety management systems, use the required PPE and promptly report concerns to your Team Leader, Supervisor or Manager.

• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment in line with 5S principles.

• Contribute to continuous improvement activities, including Lean working practices, to support efficiency and productivity.

• Participate in production meetings to support communication and workflow.

• Complete all mandatory and supplementary training within the required timescales.

• Proactively raise any issues that could affect quality, safety or delivery.

Skills and Experience Required

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering.

• 18th Edition wiring regulations qualification. Candidates holding 17th Edition will also be considered, with the cost of upgrading to 18th Edition deducted from their salary.

• Practical experience in electrical wiring, fitting or assembly relevant to the role.

• Ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings, electrical schematics and technical documentation.

• Competence in cable preparation, termination and electrical installation techniques.

• Knowledge of BS 7671 wiring regulations and the ability to apply these to installation work.

• Understanding of IPC-A-620 requirements for cable and wire harness assemblies.

• Familiarity with production or assembly environments operating to high safety and quality standards.

• A high level of attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality work.

• Ability to work collaboratively, support colleagues and contribute to team objectives.

• Flexibility to adapt to varying project requirements and undertake tasks as directed by management.
