Devops Engineer
Location: Brussels (min. 2 days on site per week)

We are looking for a skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer to support the development and operations of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps infrastructure for a large public sector program in Brussels.

Role Overview

As a DevOps Engineer, you will take ownership of maintaining and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, containerized environments, and repository management systems. The role involves a balance of support activities and leading improvement projects, with strong focus on autonomy, problem-solving, and collaboration.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong experience with OpenShift and Docker
• Proficiency in Jenkins for CI/CD automation
• Solid understanding of Nexus repository management
• Experience with Git repositories (Bitbucket preferred)
• Familiarity with Snyk or similar security tools
• Working knowledge of Jira

Nice to Have

• Scripting (eg, Bash, Groovy)
• Monitoring & logging tools
• Knowledge of Camunda, Kafka, ELK

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
• Manage and monitor containerized applications on OpenShift
• Administer and secure artifact repositories with Nexus
• Collaborate with developers using Git repositories (Bitbucket/GitLab)
• Integrate and manage security scanning tools (eg, Snyk)
• Track/manage tasks in Jira
• Troubleshoot incidents in the DevOps environment
• Lead small improvement projects to enhance DevOps workflows

Soft Skills

• Autonomous and self-driven; able to manage tasks independently
• Strong communication skills for reporting blockers and collaborating with stakeholders
• Versatile: incident management, developer support, and workflow improvements
