Bancroft Support Centre is a newly commissioned, purpose-built mental health nursing home designed to support adults with complex mental health needs in a safe, therapeutic and recovery-focused environment. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Cook to join our team and play an important role in promoting residents' health and wellbeing through the preparation of nutritious, high-quality meals.

About the Role

As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving balanced, appetising meals that meet residents' individual dietary needs and preferences. Working closely with the wider team, you will help create a positive dining experience while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, cook and serve nutritious meals and refreshments for residents.
  • Plan menus in line with residents' dietary requirements, preferences and nutritional needs.
  • Cater for special diets, allergies and texture modified meals as required.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety within the kitchen environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety legislation, infection control procedures and organisational policies.
  • Monitor stock levels, rotate stock appropriately and report ordering requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a high-quality catering service.
  • Support special occasions and themed events within the service.
About You
  • Experienced in a cooking role, ideally within a healthcare, care home or similar environment.
  • Knowledgeable about food hygiene and safe food handling practices.
  • Organised, reliable and able to work effectively in a busy environment.
  • Flexible and able to work as part of a team.
  • Passionate about preparing meals that support health, wellbeing and enjoyment.
