We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Cook to join our team and play an important role in promoting residents' health and wellbeing through the preparation of nutritious, high-quality meals.
About the RoleAs a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving balanced, appetising meals that meet residents' individual dietary needs and preferences. Working closely with the wider team, you will help create a positive dining experience while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, cook and serve nutritious meals and refreshments for residents.
- Plan menus in line with residents' dietary requirements, preferences and nutritional needs.
- Cater for special diets, allergies and texture modified meals as required.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety within the kitchen environment.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety legislation, infection control procedures and organisational policies.
- Monitor stock levels, rotate stock appropriately and report ordering requirements.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a high-quality catering service.
- Support special occasions and themed events within the service.
- Experienced in a cooking role, ideally within a healthcare, care home or similar environment.
- Knowledgeable about food hygiene and safe food handling practices.
- Organised, reliable and able to work effectively in a busy environment.
- Flexible and able to work as part of a team.
