In order to further develop and grow our business we are looking for an experienced Branch Manager to manage our busy TJ O'Mahony Branch, located in Ballymount.
TJ O'Mahony is a leading provider of quality products and expert solutions for all Building, Heating & Plumbing, DIY and Home Improvement projects.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Branch Manager to lead and grow our flagship Ballymount business, delivering strong commercial performance, operational excellence, and high customer satisfaction. The Branch Manager is accountable for sales, profitability, team leadership, and stock management
Duties sand Responsibilities- Drive revenue growth across trade and retail customers
- Build strong relationships with key accounts (contractors, developers, tradespeople)
- Set and deliver sales targets, margins, and pricing strategy
- Identify local market opportunities and respond to competitor activity
- Lead, coach, and develop department managers, sales representatives and wider team
- Create a performance-driven, customer-focused culture
- Manage recruitment, training, and succession planning
- Handle performance management and employee relations
Organisation & Stock
- Oversee stock control, availability, and supplier relationships
- Ensure efficient yard, warehouse, and transport operations
- Minimise stock loss, shrinkage, and aged stock
- Maintain high standards of health & safety compliance
- Deliver cyclical counts and stocktake targets
Customer Experience & Presentation
- Ensure excellent service levels across all parts of the business
- Resolve escalated customer issues quickly and professionally
- Maintain strong in-branch presentation and merchandising standards
- Full P&L ownership (sales, margins, costs, EBITDA)
- Control overheads including payroll, transport, and stockholding
- Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions
Skills & Experience
- Proven leadership experience in builders merchants, construction supply, or similar
- Strong commercial acumen with P&L responsibility
- Knowledge of building materials, supply chain, and trade customers
- Excellent people leadership and communication skills
- Results-driven with a hands-on, problem-solving mindset
