As a preferred supplier to one of our biggest financial clients, I am seeking for an Azure Cloud Engineer for a position in Amsterdam. We're seeking a hands-on, forward-thinking Azure Cloud Engineer who brings deep technical expertise and strong consultancy skills to guide, help and influence application teams in their cloud journey.

What You'll Do

• Act as a technical consultant, helping teams interpret and understand platform standards and design choices, and guiding them in implementing Azure-native solutions
• Support teams throughout the cloud journey from early-phase Cloud Adoptions Assessments (5R's), doing PoC's and creating Solution Designs in a structural way and help determine Cloud Learning Paths for application team members and supporting roles.
• Co-create reference architectures and landing zones that accelerate safe cloud adoption, by showing how, working together and peer review in the right mix per team alongside the pillars of the MSFT Well Architected Framework.
• Help shape intermediate platform services such as a Managed Container Orchestration service by helping the involved engineers in shaping a structured path forward.
• Unburden teams by building and managing specific Azure Verified Modules (AVM) to provide application teams with a secure and scalable self-service library of standard patterns.
• Unburden teams through developing tooling and blueprints for logging, monitoring, and alerting (LMA), security, and automation patterns.
• Design, build, and optimize solutions using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and related services.
• Drive internal enablement through trainings, coaching sessions, community events, and hackathon

Key requirement:

• A hybrid profile: an engineer and a consultant. You write code and infra, but also guide, coach, and challenge teams constructively.
• A team player who preferably is acquainted with the three characteristics of an ideal team player (humble, hungry and smart) as defined by Patrick Lencioni and knows its own strengths and weaknesses within the three characteristics
• 5+ years in software/cloud engineering, with at least 2 focused on Azure.
• Experienced in Azure Data Services (e.g., Functions, Data Factory, SQL DB, Data Lake, Cosmos DB).
• Skilled in Azure DevOps, CI/CD, and IaC using Bicep, PowerShell, CLI, or Bash.
• Well-versed in containerization, serverless, and modern cloud-native designs.
• Experienced working under enterprise-level governance models (guard-railed subscriptions).
• Confident navigating security, compliance, and operational best practices in Azure.

Bonus Points:

• Programming experience in Python or C#; familiarity with APIs and microservices.
• Exposure to financial services, especially asset or wealth management.
• Community contributions (e.g., GitHub, open source, blogs, speaking engagements).

Contract: 6+ months
