In this brasserie, you are not working in high-volume production. You work at a steady, demanding level, with services of around 100 covers in a 5-star hotel in the Amsterdam canal district, where details matter.
About the place
You will work in an independent 5-star hotel in the Amsterdam canal district, directly by the water. It is a classic and well-known hotel with a strong reputation in the Netherlands and internationally.
Inside the hotel, there is also a two Michelin-starred restaurant. That level of precision and discipline is reflected in the wider kitchen operation. The brasserie works at a casual fine dining level: accessible in style, but technically sharp in execution.
You will work in a recently renovated kitchen with high-quality equipment.
The role
As an All-round Cook / Chef de Partie, you work on a fixed section, such as rotisserie or garnish. During lunch and dinner services, you make sure your section is ready, your mise en place is organised and communication with the rest of the kitchen stays clear.
You are part of a structured, international brigade where expectations are clear and communication is direct. On the floor, the team works with a coaching approach.
What will you do?
Work on a fixed section, such as rotisserie or garnish
Prepare mise en place for lunch and dinner services
Run your section during services of around 100 covers
Maintain consistency, timing and quality under pressure
Coordinate closely with the team during peak moments
Move between different sections when needed
Who are we looking for?
You have experience as a cook, all-round cook or Chef de Partie
You have experience in a brasserie or similar kitchen
You can work in a structured, high-level kitchen environment
You stay calm and precise during service
You can work across multiple sections when needed
You communicate clearly with colleagues
What do we offer?
€19 per hour, including holiday pay and accrued vacation days
Tips
Full-time employment of 38 hours per week
A 4- or 5-day workweek
Rotating lunch and dinner shifts
Working in a recently renovated kitchen
Travel allowance
You start on a temporary contract, with the intention of moving into direct employment with the hotel
This usually happens around 1,300 worked hours, but can happen earlier when performance and fit are strong
