Year 4 Teacher (Mat Leave)

Protocol Education is working with a welcoming primary school in BS3 seeking a dedicated Year 4 Teacher to join their team on a full-time maternity cover basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a settled and engaging Year 4 class within a school that places equal importance on academic achievement, pupil wellbeing and staff support. You'll be joining a collaborative Key Stage 2 team that works closely together, sharing ideas, celebrating successes and ensuring every child receives the encouragement they need to thrive.

The Role

As the Year 4 class teacher, you will:

• Deliver creative and engaging lessons that inspire a love of learning
• Plan, assess and adapt learning to meet the needs of all pupils
• Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment
• Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development
• Build strong relationships with families, colleagues and the wider school community
• Work collaboratively with the KS2 team to share best practice and drive pupil progress
• Ensure every child feels challenged, supported and successful

What We're Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching within a primary setting
• Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum
• A nurturing and child-centred approach
• Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills
• Someone who is reflective, proactive and committed to high standards
• Ability to adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs

What We Need to Clear You

• Passport/proof of right to work in the UK
• Two proofs of address (such as a driving licence, utility bill or council tax statement)
• A CV covering the last 10 years of work or education, with any gaps explained
• References covering the last two years, including childcare or education references where applicable
• An overseas police check if you have lived abroad for three months or more in the past five years
