Job Description Overview

We are looking for Workshop and Teaching Supervisors for our University Campus summer programmes in Exeter, Warwick, Uxbridge, Richmond, Guildford, Stirling, and Portsmouth.

This dual role involvesworking with the Teaching Manager (TM) to provide support to theteaching team, and to coordinate and oversee workshops with theActivity Team, ensuring the safe operation of the academic andworkshop programme for both students and staff. An overview of therole follows:

  • Assist the TeachingManager in academic management and administration
  • Assist with stafftraining and support
  • Oversee theimplementation of effective health and safety, risk assessmentand risk management procedures in the academic programme
  • Prepare and trainactivity staff to deliver ANGLO workshops
  • Be on hand to teachwhen cover is required
Your role &responsibilities

ANGLOWorkshops:

  • Attendingthe WTS Training webinar prior to the centre opening
  • RunningANGLO Leader training to prepare for workshops
  • Planningand delivering all Workshop sessions, selecting materials,aids and locations for each workshop appropriate to thestudents' ages and levels
  • Leadingmeetings prior to each Workshop and ensuring all staff areprepared to assist the students in completing their workshops,through a clear outline of the session aims andobjectives
  • Supervisingeach Workshop group to assist staff where necessary
  • Liaisingwith the Activity Manager regarding ANGLO Leaders who leadworkshops
  • Beingfamiliar with and following all legislation, guidelines andrules set out in the WTS manual
  • Settingup and maintaining teaching/workshop spaces
  • Liaisingwith staff and IT support to resolve IT issues
Teachingsupervision:
  • Administering placementtests alongside the TM where necessary
  • Assisting the TM intimetabling classes
  • Attending meetings asrequired by the TM
  • Assisting the TM inmonitoring of student attendance and ensuring ANGLO'sattendance procedure is followed
  • Attending teachingstaff meetings
  • Assisting the TM insupervising the completion of all legal and other necessarydocumentation such as class registers, lesson plans, studentprofiles, academic reports, end of course feedback
  • Attending andcontribution in induction and Continuing ProfessionalDevelopment (CPD) sessions
  • Providing guidanceand advice to teaching staff as needed
  • Assisting in theorganisation of a certificate ceremony at the completion ofeach course
  • Reporting to the TMany relevant incidents or complaints including student orstaff discipline
  • Supervising deliveryand reacting to student online questionnaires in a timelyfashion
  • Assisting the TM inarranging teacher cover and, where necessary, deliveringlessons
  • Keeping an accurateinventory of all materials
  • Managing Trinityrevision/exam preparation sessions, gathering grades,communicating with Head Office, and managing examsessions
  • Printing andorganising student certificates
  • Providing teachingcover when required
Safeguarding and Welfare:
  • ReceivingSafeguarding Level 2 Training
  • Acting as aDesignated Safeguarding Person (DSP) at centre whererequired
  • Completing Workshopand Teaching Risk Assessments
  • Completing Part Brisk log before each workshop, communicating risks to staff,and ensuring all students and Group Leaders areinformed
  • Making sure staffunderstand and implement the risk assessments and arefollowing the relevant Emergency Reaction Plans
  • Overseeing thesupervision of students during break times and allocatingstaff to supervise students between sessions
  • Assisting in thetraining of new staff for Safeguarding Level 1
  • Liaising with theANGLO Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) at Head Officewhenever necessary through appropriate channels
  • Making sure thatstaff are aware of what to do if they have concerns about achild or if a child or another member of staff makes adisclosure
Requirements

Essential(Pleasedo not apply if you do not meet theserequirements)

  • You have the rightto work in the UK
  • University degree +TEFLI (CELTA)
  • 3 years' experienceteaching under-18s
  • Advanced IT skills,including Excel, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and classroomtechnology
  • Excellentinterpersonal and communication skills, team playerattitude
  • Commitment tohigh-quality customer service, displaying a positive "can-do"attitude
  • Ability to workunder pressure, strong work ethic and ability toimplement change at short notice
  • Committed tocontinuing professional development
  • University degree +TEFLQ qualification or equivalent experience (e.g.: DELTA, MATESOL)
  • Experienceconducting class observations and deliveringCPD
  • Managementexperience in a similar environment
  • Experience inpreparing students for Trinity GESE

Bed & Board:

Residential position.Full bed and board is provided

Hours:

87.5 hours per 10-nightstudent programme (Exeter & Warwick)

93 hours per 14-nightstudent programme plus total 14 hours of additional admin hours(all other locations).

No overtime paymentunless agreed in advance with Head Office.

On some occasions wehave to offer 14-night 46.5 hour programmes, in which case hoursand remuneration are halved. We will always let you know if this happens.
