Scrub Team Leader / Nurse Theatres - Band 6 Practitioner (Scrub Nurse) - Central Middlesex Hospital, London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. Closing date: 11 February 2026.

Job responsibilities

• Act as a scrub team leader, organising and overseeing smooth-running lists for Colorectal, Urology, General Surgery, Ophthalmic and elective orthopaedic theatres.
• Be responsible for an identified group of staff, developing, training, monitoring, and documenting the development of their clinical skills.
• Establish, lead and maintain high standard of pre /peri and postoperative care.
• Contribute positively towards the delivery of a cost effective service, adjusting staffing levels to meet demand and assisting the clinical coordinators to keep within agreed resources.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or registered ODP with Level 6 or above academic level.
• Trainee or experience in theatre scrub and team lead in orthopaedic theatre.
• Teaching and supervision qualification with evidence of continuous professional development.
• Experience of minimum 3-4 specialties in theatre and knowledge of current issues in operating theatre.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Benefits

Salary range: £44,485 to £52,521 per annum inclusive of HCAS. Permanent contract. Full time, part time, job share, flexible working, home or remote working options available.
