Workforce Development and Training Manager

We are seeking a passionate and forward thinking Workforce Development and Training Manager to take a leading role in transforming workforce capability across Buckinghamshire's Adult Social Care sector. This is an exciting opportunity to champion high quality learning, design meaningful development pathways, and support a diverse workforce to thrive, ultimately enhancing outcomes for the residents we serve.
You'll also be part of our local Health and Social Care Academy, collaborating with partners across the sector to drive excellence and innovation in workforce development.
Contract: 12 month fixed term contract/secondment opportunity (maternity cover).

About the roleAs a Workforce Development and Training Manager, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering a comprehensive Workforce Development Programme for the Adult Social Care sector. You will contribute to the design, commissioning, delivery, and evaluation of high quality training and development initiatives that meet statutory requirements, align with national standards, and respond to local priorities. Your work will directly support a confident, capable, and future ready workforce across Buckinghamshire.
Responsibilities- Leading the full learning and development cycle through needs analysis, programme design, delivery and evaluation.
- Developing and implementing professional development and qualification programmes.
- Leading the development and rollout of the Career Progression Framework across the Adults & Health Directorate.
- Building strong partnerships with external learning providers, universities, colleges and national bodies.
- Commissioning and contract managing training providers to ensure high quality, value for money delivery.
- Supporting and coordinating key programmes including the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).
- Managing and analysing workforce training data for local and national reporting.
- Representing Adult Social Care in regional and national workforce networks.
- Managing and supporting a small team of Workforce officers.
Qualifications and experience: you should have a background in workforce development, adult social care or a related field, with proven experience in designing and delivering training programmes, managing provider contracts, and working within a statutory framework.
Any DeskAs an 'any desk' worker, you'll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.
Full driving licence and own transport to travel across the county is required.
