Location: Birmingham

The Role

Our client is seeking a Senior Associate to join their national employment team-an ambitious, high performing group renowned for delivering pragmatic, commercial, and timely employment law advice to a high quality portfolio of blue chip employers.

In this role, you'll work across a broad and sophisticated caseload spanning both contentious and non contentious matters. This includes Employment Tribunal litigation, complex advisory work, and extensive corporate support for major transactions. You will gain exposure to clients across sectors such as technology, financial services, higher education, logistics, retail, and mobility.

From day one, you will be encouraged to take an active role in client relationship management and business development. This is an opportunity to work closely with market leading professionals, take ownership of significant matters, and contribute to the continued growth of a highly respected national team.

The Team

You will be joining a national employment practice operating within a wider People and Reward group, giving you access to a wide network of employment, immigration, and pensions experts across the UK. The team is known for providing consistently excellent service and commercially astute advice to a strong roster of well established, high profile employer clients.

The work is varied and substantial, encompassing day to day advisory support, project based strategic work, and complex contentious matters.

Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years' PQE in employment law
  • Experience handling both contentious and non contentious matters
  • Strong technical skills and the ability to manage matters independently
  • A proactive, client focused approach
  • Confidence delivering advice directly to clients and supporting business development initiatives

You will handle a varied workload including:

  • Disciplinary and grievance matters
  • Discrimination and whistleblowing claims
  • Employment Tribunal litigation
  • Redundancies, restructures and TUPE
  • Policy, contract and day to day advisory queries
  • Employment aspects of corporate transactions and wider corporate support

You'll also play a key role in supporting junior colleagues and contributing to the growth and cohesion of the national team.

The Firm

Our client is a modern, people centred law firm known for excellent service, commercially driven thinking and a collaborative culture. They support some of the most exciting and ambitious organisations in the UK and internationally, empowering their people to deliver high quality work in a flexible and supportive environment.

They offer:

  • A competitive, transparent compensation structure
  • High quality blue chip client work
  • An inclusive, supportive culture
  • A comprehensive benefits package designed to reward commitment and promote well being

Their approach to diversity, inclusion and well being is central to their identity. They foster a workplace where all individuals-regardless of background-are supported, valued, and able to thrive.
