Main duties of the job- Leadership & management of the ward & team
- Clinical Responsibilities - Act as a clinical expert in respiratory medicine
- Staff training & Development - Facilitate professional development of staff, promote continuing education
- Governance & quality assurance - Investigations, complaints, policy & procedures, audit & monitor clinical standards
- Patient and family liaison
- Resource & budgetary management.

Person Specification Knowledge Requirements- Good communication skills with clear written and oral skills.
- Degree in Nursing or equivalent clinical professional qualification
- Registered clinical professional
- Qualification in teaching and assessing or equivalent
- Working towards Masters qualification or equivalent
- Evidence of personal and professional development in clinical practice/ management
- Diploma in management or relevant subject or willingness to undertake
- Significant post registration experience, with experience in a senior position within the speciality
- Experience of operating and communicating effectively with clinicians and Multi-disciplinary
- Experience of working with external agencies and influencing internal change
- Experience of initiating, conducting and evaluating risk assessments and investigations
- Experience of leading and managing staff
- Experience of working towards Care Quality
- Commission and NHS Resolution standards
- Complaints Management
- Experience of service improvement methodologies
- Ability to work flexibly
- Professional Registration (e.g. NMC, HCPC)
