Job Description

Location: Newbury + Hybrid

Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits

Working hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday

Security Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain and hold clearance to SC level.

Hybrid working approach: Work in the office and at home; you will be expected to attend the office 2-3 days per week, for at least eight days per month.

What you'll do
  • Provide day-to-day operational support for live compliance and data platforms to keep vital systems running reliably.
  • Act as the first point of contact for users-logging, triaging, and managing incidents, issues, and service requests.
  • Carry out initial fault diagnosis, resolve straightforward issues, and escalate more complex problems with clear insights.
  • Monitor system health, alerts, and dashboards to spot risks early and support proactive solutions.
  • Support incident and problem management, helping restore services quickly and contributing to root cause analysis.
  • Assist with system changes, maintenance, and failover activities to keep platforms resilient.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, stakeholders, and suppliers to coordinate support and maintain service quality.
  • Contribute to improving operational processes, documentation, and runbooks to enhance efficiency.
  • Build technical knowledge through hands on experience, mentoring, and continuous learning.
  • Operate with a strong focus on security, compliance, and professionalism when handling sensitive systems and information.
Who you are
  • You have a foundational understanding-or strong interest-in areas such as cloud platforms, networks, data systems, or Linux/UNIX environments.
  • You bring experience (or transferable skills) in supporting live systems, including incident handling, troubleshooting, and escalation.
  • You're comfortable working with complex systems and enjoy understanding how different technologies connect end to end.
  • You're a clear and confident communicator who can collaborate effectively across technical teams and stakeholders.
  • You're curious and proactive, with a willingness to learn and grow your technical expertise over time.
  • You're calm under pressure, able to think logically and act methodically during incidents or service interruptions.
  • You have an interest in telecommunications, large scale IT, or regulated environments.
  • You understand the importance of security, compliance, and handling sensitive information with integrity.
  • You're a team player who values collaboration and contributes positively to a supportive, inclusive environment.
  • You are eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC) and ready to work in a role that requires high levels of trust and accountability.
