Overview

Veterinary Surgeon - Primary Care with Surgical Focus

Salary

Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum D.O.E.

Hours
  • Full-time
  • 40 hours/week
  • 4-day week
  • 1 in 8 weekends (with 2 days in lieu)
  • Minimal on-call due to dedicated ECC team
About the Practice

GVC is assisting a dynamic, independent hospital-based veterinary practice offering both primary care and advanced referral services. The hospital has a multi-disciplinary team including specialists in cardiology, ophthalmology, oncology, surgery, ECC, and neurology.

  • CT scanner, ultrasound, and x-ray suites
  • Extensive operating theatres

  • Fully equipped laboratory
  • 24-hour emergency services (managed separately from GP work)
The Role

You will join a team of 13 Veterinary Surgeons and work across the main hospital and consulting-only branches.

Requirements
  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon (or eligible to register)

  • Surgical Certificate or actively pursuing one is preferred
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Positive, can-do attitude and strong interpersonal skills
  • Organised, flexible, and committed to high standards of care
