Based in the UK, you will play a key role in enhancing and supporting our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and associated internal platforms. Hours Per Week: 37 Days Per Week: Monday to Friday Contract: Full Time & Permanent Salary: Starting from £45,000 per annum Hiring Manager: Amy Jackman Location: Coventry or Wakefield (other UK locations can be discussed) Closing Date: Friday 31st October 2025 The day to day As a Senior Developer, you'll be hands-on with a wide range of responsibilities, including: Designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems using C# / .NET technologies. Providing 3rd line support for identifying and resolving bugs in the production environment. Enhancing existing modules within our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Working with MS SQL Server for database design, query optimisation, and performance improvements. Developing and maintaining RESTful APIs and integrations with internal and external systems. Participating in solution design, code reviews, and promoting best practices within the team. Collaborating with business analysts, system specialists, and stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into robust technical solutions. The essentials We're looking for someone who brings both technical strength and real-world experience to the table. You'll need: A minimum of 5 years' professional experience in software development. Strong proficiency in C# and .NET (Core or newer), and sound knowledge of object-oriented principles. Solid experience with MS SQL Server, including stored procedures and performance tuning. Previous work with LIMS or similar data-driven business systems. Familiarity with Entity Framework Core, asynchronous programming, and API design. Hands-on experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and Agile methodologies. A logical, analytical approach and a commitment to writing maintainable, high-quality code. It's a bonus if you also have: Experience with VB.NET, SSRS, or modern front-end frameworks such as Blazor, React, or Angular. Knowledge of Azure, Docker, or Kubernetes. Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, or automated testing frameworks.
