User Researcher

User Researcher - £400/day via Umbrella - 4 Month Contract - Newcastle (Hybrid) - SCC Flex Contract

We are seeking an experienced User Researcher to support a large-scale programme, focusing on understanding the end-to-end service experience. The User Researcher will play a key role in uncovering user needs, identifying service improvement opportunities, and providing evidence-based insights to support service design and product decisions.

Your responsibilities as the User Researcher:

• Conduct research across multiple user groups, including field-based and office-based workers.
• Understand how different users interact with services throughout the end-to-end journey.
• Identify pain points, service gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
• Explore differences in workflows, behaviours, needs, and expectations.
• Investigate technology usage patterns, including mobile and desktop interactions.
• Provide actionable user insights to service design and product teams.
• Ensure accessibility and inclusion considerations are Embedded within research activities.

As a successful User Researcher, you will have:

• Proven experience as a User Researcher within public sector or large-scale service environments.
• Strong ability to independently plan and deliver user research activities.
• Experience engaging and facilitating workshops with stakeholders.
• Confidence challenging assumptions using evidence and user insights.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary agile teams.
• Ability to translate research findings into practical recommendations that improve services and user outcomes.
