We are looking for a detail-oriented & collaborative Treasury Asset and Liability Manager (ALM) to play a key role in enhancing Treasury's balance sheet management capabilities and reporting. This is an important role for us, which will work across the Treasury, Finance, and Risk functions.

About the role:

We are hiring a Treasury Asset and Liability Manager who will be responsible for designing and setting up the relevant methodology, policies, and procedures, developing configuration in the Asset Liability Management system (MORS) related to Balance Sheet Management, including an efficient, transparent, and effective Funds Transfer Pricing methodology and platform to measure product risk and profitability through the lens of Liquidity, Funding, and Interest Rate risks.

This role will also be accountable for contributing to the ICAAP and ILAAP processes and assessments, reviewing behavioural analysis, and limit setting.

  1. Overseeing and reporting performance metrics into governance committees and forums
  2. Assisting with developing ALM policies and procedures and performing control monitoring
  3. Ensuring appropriate oversight of balance sheet and off-balance sheet new and existing products and their impacts on IRRBB and Liquidity metrics is accurately captured
  4. Engaging with the wider Finance team on Bank Profitability activities
  5. Owning the configuration of the ALM system
  6. Ensuring policy and procedures documentation is in line with the requirements
  7. Managing and reporting liquidity, funding, and IRRBB metrics in a timely manner
  8. Helping to innovate and improve the effectiveness of the liquidity management framework and risk management processes to ensure they work for Monzo
  9. Fostering positive and collaborative relationships with all stakeholders
  10. Contributing to the development and implementation of stress testing activities related to interest rate risk, liquidity, funding risk, and CSRBB measurements
  11. Having an understanding of Treasury processes and risk management activities
  12. Experience in Treasury modelling and methodology designs
  13. Ability to apply strategic thinking and planning skills to formulate, execute, and translate business strategy to determine priorities and goals
  14. Knowledge and experience of the ALM system and required configurations
  15. Demonstrating leadership and ability to initiate and drive Treasury initiatives
  16. In-depth understanding of risks embedded in different banking book products
  17. Proven experience within a regulated financial institution/retail bank environment
  18. Strong awareness of the wider business, economic, and regulatory environment
  19. Excellent facilitation skills to assess needs and views of product owners and senior management regarding product profitability
  20. Excellent relationship-building skills to listen, influence, present, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders
