Express Recruitment is delighted to represent a leading logistics provider that has been delivering excellence for over 20 years. Due to continued growth and their commitment to customer service, they are actively seeking a Transport Planner to join their talented and expanding team.

Location: Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire

Salary: c£33,000 per annum, DOE

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday 8 30 + option for paid weekend overtime

Roles & Responsibilities

• Plan and optimise UK vehicle routes, balancing hours, capacity, and legal rules
• Work with a team to co coordinate the routes of around 1,300 vehicles per week
• Coordinate with drivers and customers for on time deliveries
• Monitor fleet via TMS/GPS and adjust plans as needed
• Manage staffing, vehicles, maintenance, and training
• Analyse performance to drive improvements

Skills & Experience

• Experienced in transport and route planning within logistics
• Knowledge of UK/EU driving laws, tachographs, and vehicle limits
• Strong UK geography and skilled with TMS and GPS
• Analytical problem solver under time pressure
