Transport Planner

Rate: £38 per hour (Umbrella)Location:DoncasterHybrid Working - Office Attendance Required

An experienced Transport Planner is required to join a Strategic Transportation team within a local authority environment. This is a key role supporting the delivery of transport strategy and providing technical input into the planning process.

You will review and negotiate Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans submitted as part of planning applications, provide formal written comments and recommendations, and attend and contribute at Planning Committee. You will also support the development of transport strategies and represent the authority at stakeholder meetings.

• Develop and support transport strategies and policies

• Review and negotiate transport documentation linked to planning applications

• Provide technical advice to planning colleagues

• Attend Planning Committee

• Manage consultations and maintain effective partnerships

• Monitor budgets and contractor performance

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of transport legislation and design standards

• Degree in Transport Planning, Planning or related discipline

• Proven experience reviewing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans

• Experience attending Planning Committee

• Strong report writing and negotiation skills

• Detailed knowledge of transport policy, planning processes and highways standards

• Experience of strategic transport modelling
