UK-based Hybrid Working
A dynamic consultancy is seeking Quantity Surveyors at various levels - QS, Senior QS, and Associate - to support major projects in the Power and Energy sector across the UK. Key Responsibilities:
Quantity Surveyor
- Deliver accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting.
- Administer contracts in alignment with project objectives and governance policies.
- Proactively manage cost variances, cash flow, and valuations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure programme performance, cost control, and value engineering objectives are met.
- Assist with procurement and tender evaluations.
Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Lead commissions and oversee cost management delivery.
- Manage contract change processes and ensure compliance with governance and best practices.
- Provide commercial guidance to clients and stakeholders.
- Drive improvements in budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting accuracy.
- Support the professional development of junior team members.
Associate
- Take a leadership role in delivering high-value commissions, often large or complex.
- Act as the key client interface, building strong relationships and ensuring client objectives are met.
- Lead teams to deliver quality services on time and within budget.
- Oversee the full procurement process, including contract negotiation.
- Promote innovation and efficiency within the consultancy and for client projects.
Qualifications
- Education: Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
- Professional Memberships: Ideally MRICS, MCIPS, or working towards similar.
- Contract Knowledge: Strong understanding of NEC3/4 contracts (Option C preferred).
- Sector Experience: Proven track record in Power, Energy, High Voltage, Transmission, or Renewables.
For Associate Level:
- Extensive leadership experience in cost/commercial management.
- Comfort with complex project delivery and client-facing responsibilities.
