Lead Technical Program Manager - Data Platform

Hybrid - three days onsite per week

12-month contract with potential to become permanent

We are partnering with a leading global financial-technology organisation seeking an experienced Lead Technical Program Manager to join a major Data Platform team.

This is a senior and highly visible position working across Data Engineering, Product, Platform and Business teams. You will help shape the strategic direction and operational delivery of a large-scale data platform, ensuring priorities are aligned, complex technical initiatives are delivered effectively and senior stakeholders have clear visibility across the programme.

Key responsibilities:

• Drive programme intake, planning, prioritisation and governance.
• Coordinate strategic data-platform initiatives spanning multiple technical teams.
• Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to align platform investment with business priorities.
• Manage dependencies across engineering, product and enterprise-platform teams.
• Identify delivery risks, operational challenges and competing priorities early.
• Manage communication and governance around data releases and downstream consumers.
• Drive operational excellence across support processes, issue management and continuous improvement.
• Support FinOps activities, including budgeting, forecasting, cloud-cost visibility, capacity planning and optimisation.
• Develop executive reporting, programme communications and senior stakeholder updates.
• Build alignment and influence across teams without relying on direct authority.

What we're looking for:

• Eight or more years' experience working across complex technical, data or platform environments.
• Strong understanding of modern cloud, data and analytics platforms.
• Proven experience leading large technical programmes involving multiple teams and dependencies.
• Experience partnering closely with Data Engineering, Product and Platform teams.
• Strong programme governance, prioritisation, risk-management and delivery skills.
• Exposure to FinOps, platform budgeting, cloud-cost management, forecasting or capacity planning.
• Experience improving operational processes and delivering scalable technical solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills.
• Ability to produce clear executive-level reporting and programme updates.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• A self-directed and collaborative approach within a fast-paced environment.
