Job Description
Team Leader - £13.00 - £14.00 per hour - 160 Hours monthly - £70 per sleep - up to 10 Sleeps monthly
Job Summary:
Team Leader (Residential Childcare) is responsible for providing direct care and support to children and young people who are living in a residential care setting. The role requires a compassionate and experienced individual who is able to build trusting relationships with children and support them to develop their independence, social and life skills. The Senior Support Worker will also be responsible for supervising and supporting other support workers and ensuring that the residential care setting operates effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct care and support to children and young people in a residential care setting.
Build positive relationships with children and young people and support them to develop their independence, social and life skills.
Ensure that children and young people are safe and protected at all times.
Supervise and support other support workers, including providing training and development opportunities.
Oversee the day-to-day operation of the residential care setting, ensuring that all policies and procedures are followed.
Ensure that all relevant records and documentation are maintained accurately and up-to-date.
Liaise with other professionals, including social workers and healthcare professionals, to ensure that the needs of children and young people are met.
Participate in the recruitment and selection of support workers.
Be responsible for managing budgets and resources allocated to the residential care setting.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the residential care setting, including developing and implementing new policies and procedures as required.
_ Qualifications and Skills: _
A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
QCF Level 3 Residential Childcare/Level 3 Diploma Children and Young People's Workforce (or equivalent)
Previous experience of working with children and young people in a residential care setting is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, caring and empathetic approach to working with children and young people.
Ability to manage children with Emotional Behaviour Difficulties and challenging behaviour in a sensitive and appropriate manner.
Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with other professionals.
Ability to lead and supervise a team of support workers.
Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations relating to residential care for children and young people.
Basic computer skills and ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
A valid driver's license may be required.
