We're looking for a motivated and caring Apprentice Teaching Assistant to join our fantastic team at St. Leonard's. The ideal candidate will be flexible, organised, and a strong communicator. You'll work both independently and as part of a team, supporting teachers and staff to meet the social, emotional, and learning needs of our pupils.
Apprenticeship Overview:- Salary: £8 an hour, Automatic pay increase after one year on programme for 19+ year olds
- Working week: Monday to Friday, 8.40am - 3.40pm ( 1 hour lunch break)
- Hours: 30 hours per week
- Duration: 18 months
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship standard qualification
- Online training supported by our dedicated tutor
- Location: Whalley Road, Langho, Lancashire, BB6 8AB
- Support the academic, social, and emotional development of children within the classroom
- Assist small groups of pupils, including those with SEND, to access learning and reach their full potential
- Deliver planned intervention programmes under the guidance of the class teacher or SENCO
- Provide care and support for pupils with physical, medical, emotional or educational needs
- Engage actively in lessons, helping to move children's learning forward
- Supervise children during playtimes and lunchtimes, promoting positive behaviour and safety
- Support in maintaining an organised and inclusive classroom environment
- Help implement individual education plans and behaviour support strategies
- Maintain accurate and confidential records as required.
- Attend and participate in training and professional development opportunities
- Uphold the school's policies and contribute to its positive and supportive ethos
- We are looking for an apprentice who is kind and considerate, as well as being good team players, who are willing to work with others.
- A good basic academic standard of English and maths is also needed.
- Good computing and strong communication skills are also required.
The successful candidate will obtain a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship standard qualification. Each apprentice will have their own dedicated tutor who will conduct monthly remote tutorials and reviews, providing continuous support throughout the apprenticeship program. Depending on the apprentice's needs, the frequency of these sessions may vary.
