About the RoleAs a Sports Coach / Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning across a variety of subjects when teachers are absent. While PE and sports-related lessons may form part of your timetable, you must also be confident covering general secondary subjects across KS3 and KS4.
- Delivering pre-set lesson plans across a range of subjects
- Covering PE, Games and sports-related lessons when required
- Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
- Ensuring students remain engaged and on-task throughout lessons
- Supporting pupils' academic and personal development
- Following school behaviour and safeguarding policies
- Providing feedback to teaching staff following lessons

Suitable backgrounds include:- Sports Coaches with experience working with children or young people
- Graduates considering a future career in teaching
- Cover Supervisors seeking flexible work across Sheffield

- Youth Workers with strong behaviour management skills
- Individuals with experience in secondary schools, sports, coaching or educational settings
- Be comfortable covering both PE and general secondary subjects
- Have excellent communication and behaviour management skills
- Be adaptable, proactive and confident in new environments
- Have a passion for supporting young people's development
- Hold a DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
