SEN Teaching Assistant - Wendover

SEN Teaching Assistant Wendover £92-£120 per day Full-time

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? GSL Education are looking for SEN Teaching Assistants to join a supportive SEN school in Wendover, working with pupils with a range of special educational needs.

Whether you're an experienced SEN TA, Graduate, Support Worker, Sports Coach or have relevant experience working with children, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

You will provide a mixture of 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils access learning, develop confidence and manage their individual needs.

The role may involve supporting pupils with:

  • Autism
  • ADHD
  • SEMH needs
  • Behavioural difficulties
  • Additional learning needs
  • Complex needs

Personal care may also be required as part of the role, depending on the individual needs of the pupils.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Providing dedicated 1:1 and group support in the classroom.
  • Supporting pupils with their learning, development and independence.
  • Helping manage behaviour and encouraging positive engagement.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and supporting their emotional wellbeing.
  • Working closely with teachers, the SENCO and wider school team.
  • Adapting your approach to meet individual needs.
  • Providing personal care support where required, always maintaining pupils' dignity and wellbeing.
What We're Looking For

You don't necessarily need to have worked as an SEN TA before. We're particularly interested in candidates who are:

  • Patient, resilient and enthusiastic.
  • Confident working with children and young people.
  • Able to build positive relationships.
  • Comfortable supporting pupils with challenging behaviour or additional needs.
  • Previous SEN, SEMH, autism, ADHD, support work or personal care experience is advantageous.
