Teaching Assistant - Fixed Term Contract for 1 Year to cover staff absence at St Nicholas CofE Primary School

St Nicholas CofE Primary School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to support children in their learning and development, helping them thrive both academically and personally.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide high-quality classroom support, ensuring all pupils can access learning opportunities and achieve success.

You will:

• Support pupils in the classroom and during learning activities.
• Provide individual and small-group support, including for pupils with additional needs.
• Promote inclusion, independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Assist with the implementation of education, behaviour and personal care plans.
• Help create a safe, stimulating and supportive learning environment.
• Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Support literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities.
• Assist with educational visits, lunchtime supervision and other school activities as required.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with or caring for children.
• Has good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Can build positive relationships with children, colleagues and families.
• Works effectively as part of a team.
• Understands the importance of safeguarding and inclusion.
• Is willing to learn and engage in professional development opportunities.
• Has knowledge of child development and learning strategies (desirable).
• Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience (desirable).
