Tax Accountant

Outskirts of Stevenage (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)

Salary up to £60,000 per annum

We're working with a well-established and growing business looking to bring in a Tax Accountant to strengthen their finance function.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working across a broad tax remit, partnering with the wider business, and playing a key role in ensuring compliance while adding commercial value.

Reporting into the Head of Tax, you'll be a key point of contact for all tax-related matters across multiple entities.

This is a varied position combining compliance, reporting, and business partnering.

You will:

• Prepare and review corporate tax computations and returns across multiple entities
• Support quarterly tax reporting, including forecasts and budgeting inputs
• Assist with statutory reporting, including IFRS-related tax disclosures
• Analyse tax data and provide insights to support decision-making
• Work closely with the wider finance team and non-finance stakeholders
• Support VAT and indirect tax processes, including property-related VAT where applicable
• Liaise with HMRC and external advisors
• Contribute to ongoing improvements in tax processes and controls
• Support and mentor junior team members
• Get involved in ad hoc projects across the group

We're looking for someone who is both technically strong and commercially aware.

You'll ideally have:

• A recognised qualification (ATT, ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent)
• Solid experience in corporate tax and compliance
• Exposure to VAT and broader tax matters
• Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
• Confidence working with financial systems (e.g. Alphatax or similar - beneficial but not essential)
• Advanced Excel capability
• The ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business
