System Engineer

We are working with a client who is looking to add a System Engineer to their IT team. This role will focus on maintaining and improving server and network infrastructure while supporting operational technology across the business.

You will play a key role in ensuring systems remain secure, reliable, and high performing while collaborating closely with internal IT teams.

Contract Information

• Duration: Until November 30th 2026
• Work Model: Hybrid in Hoofddorp, 3-4 days per week on-site
• Workload: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain server and network infrastructure
• Monitor and troubleshoot hardware and software performance issues
• Configure and optimize server hardware and operating systems
• Implement security measures including patching, Firewalls, authentication, and encryption
• Monitor system and service performance metrics
• Create and maintain documentation for infrastructure hardware and software
• Work closely with IT teams to ensure stable and reliable infrastructure
• Develop and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans

Skills required

• Experience administering Windows and Linux environments
• Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience troubleshooting server hardware and infrastructure issues
• Ability to support user devices such as label printers and barcode scanners
• Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
