The Opportunity

We are supporting an NHS Trust in the West Midlands with the appointment of a Locum Consultant in ENT to join an established service.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Consultant to provide high-quality ENT care across both outpatient clinics and theatre activity, working closely with colleagues across the wider multidisciplinary team.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Providing Consultant-level assessment, diagnosis and management of ENT patients
• Conducting outpatient ENT clinics
• Undertaking theatre activity as required
• Providing senior clinical decision making and advice
• Managing a broad range of ENT presentations
• Working closely with the wider multidisciplinary team
• Supporting and supervising junior medical staff where appropriate
• Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Contributing to clinical governance, audit and quality improvement activities
• Ensuring a patient centred approach to care at all times

What We're Looking For Essential Requirements

• GMC registration with a licence to practise
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Otolaryngology/ENT or relevant experience for a locum appointment
• Previous NHS Consultant-level experience in ENT
• Broad clinical experience across ENT
• Experience undertaking ENT outpatient clinics
• Appropriate theatre experience
• Strong clinical decision making and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to high standards of patient care and clinical governance

Desirable Requirements

• Previous experience within a busy NHS ENT department
• Broad experience across adult ENT
• Experience across both outpatient clinics and theatre
• Teaching and supervision experience
• Experience contributing to audit, governance and quality improvement
