Support Worker - Street, Somerset

Overview

Mencap is seeking compassionate Support Workers to join our team in Street, Somerset. You will work with a diverse group of individuals with learning disabilities, assisting with daily activities and providing emotional support to help them lead fulfilling lives.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with daily activities and personal care as required.
• Provide emotional support and help build meaningful relationships with those you support.
• Collaborate with colleagues and use person-centred approaches to promote independence and well-being.

Requirements

• A genuine passion for supporting others.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
• Driver required.

Contract options and working pattern

• Full-time: 37.5 hours per week
• Part-time: flexible hours based on availability

All our services are 24-hour care. Rotas are prepared at least 4 weeks in advance to help you plan your personal and social life.

• Days: 07:00-22:00
• Sleep-ins: 22:00-07:00

Sleep-in payments and enhanced rates apply where available: a sleep-in option with an enhanced flat rate payment of £63.70.

All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
