Job Description
Ideal for BA Education Graduates

Start your journey from theory to real classroom impact

We are working with multiple special needs schools across Bath and North East Somerset who are looking to fill various teaching assistant roles and new graduates are ideal for these positions.

If you've studied BA Education and are ready to move beyond lectures, essays, and modules into hands on experience with young people, this could be the perfect next step for you.

We are recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work across supportive schools and specialist provisions, helping children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) access learning, build confidence, and thrive in education.

This role is particularly well suited to graduates who have studied education-focused modules such as Becoming an Educator, Inclusive Learning, and Meeting Diverse Needs. Are you ready to apply your knowledge in real classroom settings?

Who we're looking for:
  • BA Education graduates or final year students looking to progress into school based work
  • A strong interest in inclusive education and supporting diverse learning needs
  • Good communication, empathy, and a reflective approach to working with children
  • A willingness to learn and develop professionally in a school environment
  • Experience in SEN is helpful but not essential; the right attitude and curiosity about inclusive practice matter most
Why this role is a natural progression for Education graduates
  • Put your understanding of inclusive education into real practice
  • See how learning theory, policy, and research translate into everyday classroom support
  • Work directly with pupils who benefit from tailored approaches to learning
  • Build meaningful experience for careers in teaching, educational psychology, SEN, or youth work
What you'll be doing:
  • Supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs, both in small groups and 1:1
  • Helping adapt learning so it is accessible, engaging, and achievable for each child
  • Applying inclusive strategies to support participation and progress
  • Working alongside teachers and SEN staff to create positive learning environments
  • Encouraging confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing
What you'll gain:
  • Real world classroom experience to complement your degree
  • Opportunities in specialist SEN and mainstream settings
  • Ongoing CPD and training to strengthen your practice
  • Weekly PAYE pay
  • A supportive consultant who understands your career goals in education
Ready for your next step in education?

If you're ready to move from studying education to applying your practice in the classroom, we would be happy to support you in taking that next step into school based experience.
