Job Description
Graduate Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal

Stepping into your future - ready to learn, grow, and do meaningful work that matters.

At IVCEvidensia, you'll find a place where you can be yourself, supported by people who want to see you thrive. You'll get hands on experience, build your confidence, and discover just how far your passion can take you.

Robson Vets is located in Laurencekirk, with a branch in Montrose. It is set in beautiful countryside with views over the foothills to the Cairngorms. The location is within easy reach of Dundee and Aberdeen - minutes' drive with accessible transport links via train 5 minutes from the surgery. Initially the role will be based in Laurencekirk; once confident you'll also work in Montrose, a consult only site.

The local gym is just down the road, a few minutes' walk away. We have accommodation on site and ample free parking. The local community offers shops, takeaways, cafes, a doctor's surgery, primary and secondary school, and a pharmacy. There are lovely walks within a short stroll. Local house rentals are available in Laurencekirk and the surrounding area.

We have a supportive team of three vets and six nurses (4.7 FTE) who will support you every step of the way.

Practice facilities include a dental suite with dental x ray, ultrasonography and digital x ray, flexible and rigid scopes, multiparameter anaesthetic machines, fluid infusion pumps, syringe drivers, patient warmers, laser and acupuncture therapy on site. Separate dog and cat wards, intensive care ward, isolation ward, dental suite, two theatres, three consulting rooms, overnight accommodation and a staff kitchen.

Enjoy a welcoming environment with structured support and flexibility to suit your lifestyle.

Your normal hours of work are 40 hours per week, split over four days and one supervised weekend. Work includes consultations, study time and operating, rota'd as you gain confidence. Inpatient responsibilities will be allocated and backed up after six months in the position.

You will be supported through consults by a mentor. For surgery, a skills matrix and training plan will be implemented, then supervised operating will begin when you are confident.
