Staff Nurse- Medical Ward

As an Acute Medical Nurse, you'll be part of a team delivering high quality care to our acutely unwell patients, with a range of complex care needs. You will have the opportunity to work with our dedicated team of medical consultants from a wide range of medical specialties. Day-to-day, you will use your knowledge and expertise to manage acutely unwell patients and work with our multi-disciplinary team to support our 1-hour pathway for patient assessment and deliver high-quality care to our general medical and surgical patients requiring medical input or optimisation. You will provide independent assessment of patient care requirements, develop and implement care plans, and deliver appropriate nursing interventions. Ensure that the ward whiteboard is updated at the start of each shift. Maintain awareness of consultant protocols and demonstrate early recognition of deteriorating patients. Follow strict processes for documentation, recording, and monitoring patient observations, escalating concerns promptly using the SBARD handover framework.
