Location: The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kings Lynn

Principle Job Purpose: To work in close association with the Consultant Urologists and associated specialties to provide a comprehensive general urological service at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Kings Lynn, NHS Trust site.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide management of in-patients and out-patients for elective and emergency cases.
  • Help reduce waiting lists in both out-patient and operating lists.
  • Contribute to meeting the Surgical Division's objectives.

Qualifications
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) or be in the process of acquiring within a grace period of starting.
  • Full Registration and a licence to practise with the General Medical Council.
Professional Values & Behaviours, Skills and Knowledge
  • A wide experience of in-patient and out-patient medical treatment of specific Urological conditions as well as the management of urological emergencies is essential.
  • Minimum of 1 year of UK experience.
  • Achieved the competences equivalent to that of a trainee who has completed UK foundation, ST1 and ST2 training or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of supervision or training of junior doctors.
  • At least four years' full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in Urology or as a fixed term specialty trainee in Urology or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.
  • Demonstrates understanding of a range of leadership principles, approaches and techniques so can adapt leadership behaviours to improve engagement and outcomes - appreciates own leadership style and its impact on others.

Salary is dependent on experience.
