Solution Architect

We are looking for a Solution Architect to join our client's team and make a crucial difference for their retail and small business banking clients. You will transform their application landscape into a microservices-based, adaptable, and high-quality application environment.

About the role:

As a Solution Architect, you will be a key link between Business Architects and DevOps teams and squads. You will bring together the worlds of application architecture, software development, and operational management. Your primary focus will be on translating requirements into the architecture and design that serves as the blueprint for solutions. You will ensure the quality of technical designs through to implemented solutions, including integrations and interfaces.

You will:

• Connect the worlds of application architecture, software development, and operational management.

• Focus on translating requirements into the architecture and design that forms the blueprint for solutions.

• Rely on your own experience with design patterns, published reference architectures, and the support and guidance of business architects.

• Be responsible for the quality of the technical design through to the implemented solution, including integrations and interfaces.

• Be responsible for developing Project Start Architectures and technical application specifications.

• Actively contribute to developing solutions and making policy decisions in various focus areas (technical/functional).

• Understand the challenges of implementing a complex (value) chain that goes beyond a single program.

• Work closely with the Tech Lead, DevOps squad(s), and fellow solution architects within the Insurance & Pension area

• Collaborate with Product Owners and various internal and external chain partners to achieve strategic objectives.

• Actively contribute to cross-area goals, aiming to become the best, most innovative, and data-driven insurance and pension broker in the Netherlands.

Responsibilities:

• Translating business and IT requirements into a technical design.

• Ensuring the quality of the technical design through to the implemented solution.

• Developing Project Start Architectures and technical application specifications.

• Actively contributing to developing solutions and making policy decisions.

Experience:

• Extensive technical experience with: Microsoft Azure DevOps, Java/Spring Boot, Microservices architecture, GraphQL, Angular, KONG, and PEGA.

• At least 4 years of work experience in a single environment with software development teams.

• Experience with development concepts in Domain-Driven Design, API-first, and 12-factor apps.

• Experience in CI/CD with Azure DevOps.

• Experience with public and hybrid cloud solutions and application migrations.

• Work experience in a similar role is a strong advantage.

Profile:

• Fluent in English and Dutch (native), both spoken and written.

• Completed a higher professional or university education.

• Excellent communication skills to be a good conversationalist at various levels.

• Affinity with Middleware and IT infrastructure.

• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.

• SAFE Agile/Scrum and DevOps knowledge and experience.

• Knowledge/experience in security principles, interface concepts, risk management concepts, development methods, and QA methodology.
