We're supporting a leading global organisation as they continue to invest in the development of large-scale, high-availability digital platforms and are looking to add an experienced Senior Software Engineer to their team.

This is an opportunity to work on complex, enterprise-scale systems that process significant transaction volumes, leveraging modern engineering practices, event-driven architecture, and AI-assisted development tools.

What you'll be doing

• Designing and building scalable Back End services using Java and Spring Boot
• Developing microservices and REST APIs within distributed systems environments
• Working with event-driven architectures using Kafka
• Contributing to architecture, design decisions, and technical best practices
• Collaborating within Agile engineering teams
• Driving quality through CI/CD, monitoring, and automation

Experience required

Strong Java development experience

Spring Boot and Microservices

REST API development

Kafka and event-driven architecture

Oracle or similar relational databases

CI/CD and Git-based development

Experience working on large-scale distributed systems

Exposure to AI-assisted development tools (eg GitHub Co-pilot, Cursor, Claude, etc.)

Nice to have

• Axon Framework
• PCF/Cloud platforms
• Splunk, Dynatrace or similar monitoring tools
• Payments, fintech or highly regulated industry experience
• React or other Front End technologies
