Software Developer

Senior Software Developer C# / .NET / React

Join a leading construction organisation with a well-established in-house technology team that is driving digital innovation across the business. This is an opportunity for an experienced Senior Software Developer to play a key role in delivering modern software solutions while also supporting the evolution of existing business-critical systems.Working closely with stakeholders and fellow developers, you will take ownership of the design, development and enhancement of applications that support a large and growing organisation. This role offers the chance to work across modern web technologies, APIs and legacy systems while influencing technical direction and best practice.Please note: This is a hybrid role requiring 4 days per week in the office.
What you'll be doing

• Designing, developing and maintaining applications using C# and .NET
• Building modern front-end solutions using React.js
• Developing and integrating RESTful APIs
• Working with SQL Server to support database development, troubleshooting and optimisation
• Supporting and enhancing existing Windows Forms (WinForms) applications
• Analysing existing systems and identifying opportunities for modernisation and improvement
• Resolving complex application, database and integration issues
• Producing scalable, maintainable and high-quality code
• Taking ownership of projects from requirements through to deployment
• Mentoring and supporting other members of the development team
• Collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver business-critical solutions

What we're looking for

• Strong commercial experience in a Software Developer or Senior Software Developer role
• Extensive experience with C# and .NET
• Proven experience developing REST APIs
• Strong front-end development experience with React.js
• Solid knowledge of SQL Server and database development
• Experience using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
• Experience maintaining and enhancing WinForms applications
• Strong understanding of software design principles and architecture
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience working within complex and established codebases
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical delivery

• Modern .NET versions
• Azure and cloud-based technologies
• CI/CD and automated deployment pipelines
• Application modernisation and migration projects
• Mentoring junior developers
