The Company

A well-established electronics manufacturer based in Basingstoke is looking for an experienced SMT Operator to join their production team on an initial 3-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a modern manufacturing environment, with the possibility of securing a permanent position for the right person.

The Role

As an SMT Operator, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring surface mount technology (SMT) machinery to ensure high-quality PCB assembly production. You will work closely with the production team to maintain output, quality, and efficiency targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating SMT pick-and-place machinery
• Loading components and materials onto production lines
• Setting up and carrying out machine changeovers
• Monitoring machine performance and identifying faults
• Conducting quality checks throughout the manufacturing process
• Reading and following work instructions and engineering documentation
• Maintaining a clean and organised work area
• Supporting continuous improvement activities within production

About You

The successful SMT Operator will ideally have:

• Previous experience operating SMT machinery
• Experience working within an electronics manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of PCB assembly processes
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• A proactive and reliable approach to work
