Service Charge and Rents Officer

Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a client based in Norwich, are looking for an experienced Service Charge and Rents Officer to join their team and play a crucial role in their housing operations.

Position: Service Charge and Rents Officer
Salary: £41,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent + Hybrid Working

Purpose

• The Service Charge & Rents Manager is operationally responsible for the effective management, administration, and communication of service charges and rent application for homes, homeowners, freeholders on estate and garages.

Job Responsibilities

• Liaise with departments (e.g., Housing and Asset) to gather data and ensure that the budgeting process reflects the true costs of services provided to residents.
• Calculation of individual service charges for each property, ensuring all costs are appropriately allocated and apportioned.
• Calculate and issue annual service charge accounts, ensuring all tenants receive clear and concise breakdowns of the charges, with transparent explanations for any changes in costs.

Job Requirements

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• Degree level or equivalent relevant professional qualification or qualified by experience.
• Have or are working towards a Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Level 3 or above, or similar - Desirable.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
